Janine Sot, AA, BA, MBA
Owner Janine Bentivegna Photography
Janine wants to live in a world filled with innovative businesses, books that come bundled with extra dark chocolate and a force field around her keyboard that repels an attention seeking Chihuahua. As a freelance photographer (and small business owner) with more than 25 years of experience, she’s worked for Crains Cleveland & Chicago Business, Information Age, WSJ, Oberlin College, Jones Day (and more) producing images and new media. Her images have been honored by The Press Club of Cleveland nine straight years (1998 thru 2006). In 2000 she took her many talents to Dermatology and Plastic Surgery Institute (DPSI) within the Cleveland Clinic where she is employed full time.
The Cleveland Clinic has awarded Janine the CEO award for her work on the Face Transplant Photography Team. She photographed all three face transplants before, during and after surgery; 2008, 2014 and 2017.
Janine’s images have been seen in national publications, local galleries, and regional photography exhibitions, such as "Pictures from the Edge”, a national touring show illuminating the issue of homelessness; the Women's Bicentennial Photography Project; The Community Portrait Gallery at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport; The Free Times, "Faces of Cleveland" art exhibit and The Cleveland Clinic Art Exhibition, “In My Room.”
When she’s not taking photos, training residents or organizing a digital database for The Cleveland Clinic, you can find her practicing home decorating, running barefoot in her garden or in her kitchen whipping up incredible Italian dishes.
Janine lives in the Cleveland, Ohio area, has two grandchildren, two children if you include her husband and one awesome Chihuahua.
Her next project: To be determined.
